Exhibition Introduction
Everything that exists in the world changes, transforms, and moves. All beings in the world have finite lives and may have to live with anxiety and emptiness at all times. In the book “Existence and Time,” Martin Heidegger, a German existential philosopher, wrote that human beings set their own standard of value between birth and death, and live meaningful lives using the means of “choice and decision” by taking the unstable state of mind away within finiteness.
The title of the exhibition, “LOOKING INTO THE MIRROR POND,” describes a scene in which human beings can be viewed more objectively with a third eye when looking into the Mirror Pond, which has no wind and no waves. Furthermore, nature such as the sky and earth reflected on the surface of the mirror pond is consistent with the work of the artist who uses infinite space to create works. This contains the artist’s wish for visitors to think deeply about their life and stretch infinite imagination through her work.
